QUICK FACTS
Mail/packages are ready for pickup when residents receive an email notification from Housing & Residence Life confirming that the mail/package has been logged and processed.
All mail and packages that come to the Ravines Mail & Package Center or Winter Hall Front Desk must be processed before residents can pick them up. This can take anywhere between 1-3 days depending on the volume and day received.
Delivery confirmations from carriers (Amazon, UPS, USPS, etc.) do not indicate that the package is ready for pickup. If you have any questions about the status of your package, please email contact the appropriate desk.
Residents are encouraged to pick-up mail/packages soon after they have been processed. Mail/packages not picked up within 30 days will be returned to carriers, donated, or disposed.
All outgoing paper mail can be placed into the blue USPS mailboxes with postage/stamp already added. Outgoing USPS mailboxes are located outside the following buildings:
- Laker Village North Community Center
- Niemeyer Living & Learning Center (Main entrance)
- Kirkhof Center (South doors near busses)
- South Apartments E (Main entrance)
- Outside of Winter Hall
Neither the Ravine's Mail & Package Center or Winter Hall Front Desk can send mail or packages. Housing and Residence Life offices and desks to do not sell any packing or packaging materials (boxes, tape, packing insulation, envelopes, etc.).
The Ravines Mail & Package Center and Winter Hall Front Desk will only receive and log mail/packages for current on-campus residents.
Mail/packages received for anyone not living on campus will be returned to carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, etc.) and/or may be disposed at carrier discretion. Unfortunately, we cannot forward mail or packages to anyone no longer residing on campus. Residents who move off-campus should ensure they are sending mail/packages to their current off-campus address.
It is the department's policy to only accept, log, and release mail and packages for contracted residents living on campus. Unfortunately, we will not accept, log, or release mail/packages for short-term guests, non-contracted residents, etc. Mail/packages received for anyone not contracted to live on campus will be returned to carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, etc.) and/or may be disposed at carrier discretion. Unfortunately, we cannot hold or forward mail or packages to anyone not contracted to reside on campus.
Both the Ravine Mail & Package Center (for Allendale residents) and Winter Hall Front Desk (for downtown residents) will be able to receive mail and packages for assigned residents living on-campus for the Fall 2026 term beginning Monday, August 17, 2026.
If you have applied for on-campus housing, but have not been assigned to a unit, your mail/package may be returned to the carrier.
The mail/packages may not be logged in our system until after move-in days.
