A brick building labeled "Oak Living Center" with a brown roof and large windows. A bicycle is parked at the entrance. The scene is calm and sunny.

Suite-style units consist of two students per room, and four students per suite with a shared bathroom, reserved for freshmen. Two residents share a double fully furnished room. Suite-style is a great way to form a sense of community and relationships with other residents. This building is located on the north campus near Kleiner Commons, the tutoring center, Fresh Food Co., Fuel, and Mackinac Hall, where most freshmen have classes.

Oak is home to the Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) Living-Learning Community (LLC). WISE residents have opportunities to network, study together, meet upper-class science majors and faculty members, and attend events related to their future careers in the sciences. If you have questions, contact WISE Faculty Director, Dr. Jessica Vandenplas at (616) 331-3808 or by emailing [email protected].

As a Living-Learning Community, Oak is not included in the self-selection process. If you would like to be placed in the WISE LLC, you may select it as a preference when submitting your Housing Application, or contact Housing & Residence Life at [email protected].
