Kelly Krepps, History '05

Kelly Krepps, History '05

My name is Kelly Krepps and I graduated from Grand Valley State in 2005. I graduated with a degree in history and political science. My history degree has opened up a lot of doors for me. Originally I entered college with the goal of teaching biology but thankfully a few history professors at GVSU changed that. I was fortunate to be hired as a high school history teacher following graduation. Being a teacher at Jenison High School has given me opportunities to expand my knowledge about history, politics, and social trends. I have had the privilege to work with the Gerald R. Ford Museum in Grand Rapids, the Holocaust Memorial Center in Detroit, and the Presidential Timeline Summer Institute with the University of Texas.

In addition to my duties in the classroom I have also had the privilege to coach athletics in the district. I have been a wrestling coach for the last 18 years and have also coached football for 10 years at multiple levels.  I will be taking over the Jenison youth wrestling program next fall as my son will be entering the sport.
