Mike Burns, History '10
Since graduating from GVSU, I received a M.A. (University of New Mexico) and a Ph.D. in history (Texas Christian University). I then became an associate editor with the South Dakota State Historical Society. I recently took over as the Managing Editor of the society's quarterly journal, South Dakota History. The professors at GVSU provided the training to become a better historian, writer, and editor. The professors' emphasis on writing, research, and historiography put me in a great position to succeed in graduate school and to work in the fields of publishing and editing.
