Gabby Ramon, Social Studies '20
I graduated from GVSU in the winter semester of 2020 with majors in elementary education and group social studies. I am currently teaching 4th grade in Jenison. My social studies degree from GVSU equipped me with not only an abundance of historical knowledge, but also a variety of high quality instructional strategies. Within the social studies classes I took at GVSU, I learned how to further students’ literacy skills through purposeful writing assignments and classroom discussions. My social studies background has been a wonderful tool in teaching students the importance of reasoning and rationalizing the world around them. I am grateful for the quality social studies content and pedagogical courses that equipped me for a successful year of teaching.
