Description
Are you looking to integrate content areas, meet state standards, and create meaningful, place-based learning experiences for your students? Join us for a professional learning opportunity focused on the Great Lakes Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) online toolkit and its powerful approach to engaging students in local environmental issues!
This session will spotlight the issue identification component of the MWEE process, helping educators guide students in investigating real-world challenges in their own communities. Participants will gain hands-on experience with macroinvertebrate sampling as a practical strategy for exploring water quality and ecosystem health, while learning how to use the free, “one-stop” MWEE toolkit to access ready-to-use lessons, curricula, and resources from NOAA B-WET and Groundswell. Walk away with the skills, confidence, and tools to implement authentic watershed investigations that inspire students to design meaningful community solutions.
