From the Valley to the City

Grand Valley State University offers two distinct campus experiences to enrich your academic journey. The Valley Campus in Allendale serves as the university’s academic, residential, and social hub, providing a vibrant college atmosphere with abundant resources and support. Meanwhile, the City Campus, located in downtown Grand Rapids (Michigan’s second-largest city) includes the Robert C. Pew and Health campuses, and hosts many professional programs such as business, engineering, and health care. All campuses are connected by the Laker Line, which is a free bus system for GVSU students.

Costs and Financial Aid

Grand Valley State University is an outstanding academic investment for students in DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, and Fulton counties. Grand Valley's tuition is in the lower third of Michigan public universities and offers valuable scholarships for academically qualified students with a 3.3 GPA or better. For example, our Award for Excellence Scholarship awards non-Michigan residents the difference between full-time Michigan resident tuition and non-resident tuition plus an additional $3,500 per year (renewable up to a total of four years).

Other scholarships include the Presidential Scholarship, Faculty Scholarship, and Laker Scholarship, each of which includes a significant, renewable scholarship award plus the difference between full-time Michigan resident tuition and non-resident tuition. Including the Award for Excellence Scholarship, these scholarships are worth a total award value of approximately $29,000-$66,000 over the course of four years for Georgia residents.
