Welcome to Facilities Services on the Allendale campus of Grand Valley State University. We are ready to serve and assist our campus partners, providing you with a first-class experience while on campus. We have a talented team of service-minded people who work daily to make this a wonderful place for our students, faculty and staff to live, teach, learn and grow. I thank you for checking out our website and allowing me to introduce you to what we trust is the start of an outstanding customer experience. Facilities Services consists of Customer Service, Custodial, Grounds, Maintenance and Energy operations, as well as campus support operations consisting of Mailroom, Warehouse, Receiving, Event Support, Motor pool and Recycling. We are also responsible for the oversight of the University utility budget and the Central Utilities operations.
Our focus is on the customer and helping our campus partners to provide an outstanding experience for all who drive under the arch and enter what we believe is the best campus anywhere. Everyone arriving on campus is greeted by our beautifully manicured grounds and our rich tradition of well-maintained buildings. Once inside you will find clean, functional, and safe spaces.
As a department we have strategically aligned ourselves with our Academic, Housing, Dining and Athletic operations and work daily to support the mission of the University and its Reach Higher 2025 initiative. We seek to provide a unified approach to our work and are great stewards of our resources. Our support for campus customers is driven by the fundamental mission of increasing recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff.

I joined GVSU in 2010 as an Operations Manager at the Pew Campus and Regional Centers. After 2 years I transferred to the Allendale campus as the Assistant Maintenance Supervisor and worked by way up to my current role of AVP – Facilities Services Allendale. Prior to GVSU I was an Account Manager for The Macomb Group and a Residential Builder serving the Greater Grand Rapids and Lakeshore communities. I am a 1994 graduate of Western Michigan University and received my MBA from GVSU in 2016. My wife Sandy and I reside in Allendale and have a sincere and genuine passion for all things GVSU, especially the best department on campus in Facilities Services. My primary focus is providing outstanding customer service and a great campus experience for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. My hobbies include; spending time with family and friends, woodworking, boating, jet skiing, snowmobiling, camping and golfing.
