A Four Day Summer Day Camp Sparking Interest in Renewable Energy

June 21 - 24, 2021

EOW Summer Camp is a four day summer day camp exploration for middle school students designed to spark interest in renewable energy sources and careers. Students will participate in a large group introduction followed by breakout sessions facilitated by GVSU faculty, staff and students providing them with hands-on activities to interact with a variety of renewable energy sources including: solar, wind, and hydro power energy. An introduction to careers in renewable energy will also be a part of the camp. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in an off-site field trip.

*This is a nonresidential camp.  


EOW Summer Camp will be held virtually summer 2021. Apply on the GVSU Camps Website or click on "EOW Virtual Camp Details" for more information. Registration deadline April 30.

Cost: Free

Participants must meet the following criteria: 

  • be between the ages of 11 and 15,
  • currently enrolled in the 6th or 7th grade, and
  • entering 7th or 8th grade in Fall 2021.

Technology and Hands-On Kits

For the virtual camp, technology may be available for students based on grant funding. Hands-on kits will be provided to all participants.
