Battle Creek Scholars Program
2025-26 Battle Creek Scholars and Staff
Background
The Pipeline Scholarship Program launched in 2020 through a partnership between the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Battle Creek Public Schools, and Grand Valley State University. Full scholarships were awarded to graduates of Battle Creek Central High School. The program also encouraged recipients to engage in experiential learning and career opportunities in Battle Creek. What began with just six Pipeline Scholars in 2020 grew to 60 scholars by 2023. The Pipeline Scholarship Program accepted its final cohort in 2023, and today's Battle Creek Scholars program includes students who came to GVSU via both the Pipeline Scholarship and the Bearcat Advantage program.
