AI Use

Knowing how and when to use generative AI well is a skill every scholar is still building. Take a moment to think about how you used AI in your work and how you plan to use it as you prepare for SSD. As a reminder, the OURS Generative AI Policy asks that AI support, not replace, your own thinking, and that you have your faculty mentor’s approval to use it in your research.

  1. Research or creative process: Did you use generative AI in your research or creative work? If yes, briefly describe the tool(s), how you used them, and what you learned about when AI was, or wasn’t, helpful.
  2. Presentation prep: Will you use generative AI to prepare your presentation (for example, your abstract, slides, poster, or practice)? If yes, briefly describe how, and how you’ll make sure the presentation reflects your own thinking and findings.
