Description
The Mental Health Ambassadors Program is designed to provide a cohort of students with a practical workshop that supplies the tools, resources, and skills necessary to identify situations of mental distress, engage by providing empathetic support, and direct fellow GVSU Lakers to resources.
Mental Health Ambassadors will become certified and gain marketable experience through training on a scope of topics related to mental well-being including:
- Common symptoms of mental distress
- Campus and community resources
- Skills for providing support and intervention
- Alcohol and other drug use
- Suicide prevention
- Self-care
