Exhibit - Making Waves
Making Waves
The two-year Making Waves Initiative created collaboration and opportunities across campus among students, faculty, staff, and the community. The initiative provided new opportunities to explore and investigate the many ways that water permeates our lives and the natural world around us. The GVSU campuses are connected and influenced by the Grand River and Lake Michigan. Our geographic context and expertise provide opportunities for students, staff, faculty, and the community to take a deep dive into the topic of water and to make a difference locally and globally through their research, advocacy, and leadership. Students gain skills and understanding through experiential learning, independent research, coursework, MWI activities, study abroad opportunities, and engagement with community partners. An online reservoir of teaching and learning resources is available through the Making Waves Website.
