SLD Read, a nonprofit literacy resource center with locations in Grand Rapids, Big Rapids, and Kalamazoo, announced the promotion of Bex Takacs-Britz, CFRE, CNP to Development Director. They will have the primary responsibility for fund development and relationship stewardship across the organization's service area. Mx. Takacs-Britz, 34, joined the organization in 2020 as Development Manager and has led substantial organizational growth during their time with the organization. Mx. Takacs-Britz received their degree in Public & Nonprofit Administration with an emphasis in budgeting & finance from Grand Valley State University in 2010. They completed their Certified Nonprofit Professional professional credential in 2021, and received the distinction of their Certified Fund Raising Executive credential in 2022. They also serve as the chapter advisory chair to the Alpha Zeta Lota Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at Grand Valley State University, an appointment they have held since 2012.
