Tessa Keena, '12, recently celebrated 10 years with Hungerford Nichols CPAs + Advisors and leads the firm's Accounting Solutions Team. She began her career in the field of Cosmetology and transitioned into Public Accounting through her continued education and various business organizations. Her unique and diverse background allows her to be a thought leader in the industry and her firm. Her goal is to advocate for the support and growth of her team members, her clients, and her community. When you meet Tessa, you quickly learn how passionate she is about people, accounting & advisory, and life in general! She works with a variety of industries and organizations to ensure they have accurate financial information and sound business processes. Her areas of expertise include financial planning and analysis, business systems implementation, and not-for-profit accounting and management. She earned an Associate of Science in Business Studies degree from Cornerstone University and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from Grand Valley State University, and maintain a current CPA certification in the State of Michigan. She serves on the board of directors for The Michigan State Board of Accountancy, Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, The West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The BRAINS Foundation, and is on the Steering Committee for Gateways for Growth - Welcoming New Americans in Kent County. She is also a member of the following professional organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.
