After graduating from GVSU in the spring of 2016, I began a journey in higher education at Wayne State University as a contract consultant on a grant to research student basic needs, after the grant period ended WSU kept me on to create The W Food Pantry (the on campus student pantry) to help fight food insecurities amongst college students. After developing and implementing The W, I was gifted a Graduate Student Assistantship to operate the first full year of the pantry. This past May, I was hired as the Coordinator of Student Life Wellness in the Dean of Students Office at Wayne State University! Although at a different university, the life lessons I've learned throughout my time at GVSU has helped shaped me to be the person I am.
