When I was 16 years old I decided to become a therapist with the goal of opening up my own private practice. For the next several years while working towards that, and attending college at GVSU, I also played in bands hoping to make a career out of being a musician. I finally found the perfect combination of both! I am happy to announce that I have opened my own private practice focusing specifically on mental health and substance use counseling for touring artists. The practice is called Supporting Act Counseling. Visit online at: www.supportingactcounseling.com/.
For the foreseeable future I'll still be working full time as an outpatient therapist at Mercy Health in Grand Rapids as well as teaching at Grand Valley as a part time adjunct professor.
Although I will be focusing on this population I am open to taking other referrals, so if you know anyone interested in counseling feel free to refer them. The work is done through cyber sessions/telecounseling so I can work with you from anywhere.
