Christian Fredericks has been named Assistant Director for Faculty-Led Programs in Education Abroad at the University of Texas at Austin. In this role, he oversees the development, implementation, and support of faculty-led study abroad programs, working closely with faculty across disciplines to design and lead high-impact international learning experiences for students.
Christian's path to international education began at Grand Valley State University, where his own study abroad experience as a student proved formative to his career path. He went on to earn his M.S. in College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University, where he also worked in study abroad. He then returned to GVSU, working in Housing and Residence Life and leading coordination of the Ghana: Honors Cultural Exchange & Service-Learning program, before moving to UT Austin, where he spent the past decade working across various colleges. This new role marks his return to Texas Global, which helps UT Austin rank third nationally among U.S. universities for study abroad participation, sending thousands of Longhorns around the world again.
