I recently published my fifth book, "Lost Lakers: Grosse Pointe to Grand Valley-Cake Eater Meets Convict." A Michigan-based sports memoir, the book includes the story of former Laker student-athlete Reginald "Hook" Johnson, who was elected Grand Valley's student-government vice president in 1974, but is now serving a life sentence in a Michigan prison for his involvement in five homicides committed in the Detroit area in 1975. "Lost Lakers" also provides a perspective on the early years of the Laker football program.
