Alumni Mentoring

30 Minute Mentors

During the annual 30 Minute mentors event, students are invited to speak with an alumni mentor for half an hour. These conversations are informal and guided by student interest. Alumni share their experience as a student, provide advice, and talk about career opportunities in their field.

Student participants are primarily those who have not yet decided on a major or are considering a change and those who are in the first or second year of their program. This is an opportunity to learn about different majors and career paths directly from recent, successful alumni.

30 Minute Mentors consists of a series of sessions over several days on campus with each session focused around a group of majors. This event is held during the winter semester and is a partnership between the Alumni Relations and the eight college advising offices.
