This minor is designed to provide a foundation related to the principles of information security in a theoretical and practical application related to how a comprehensive information security program will contribute to protecting organizational information assets. Information Systems (IS) use hardware, software, databases, and networks to make data-driven decisions in the ever-changing business world.
Coursework provides a solid foundation in application programming, data analytics, and problem-solving. You will study database systems, distributed computing, IT project management, networking, and system security. The curriculum also includes web development and the opportunity for interdisciplinary electives, ensuring a well-rounded education in the IT field and beyond.
The IS program stands out for its unique blend of theoretical foundations, practical experience, and cybersecurity principles to prepare you to tackle current and future challenges.
