Workday Project Overview

WHAT IS WORKDAY?

Workday is a cloud-based enterprise management solution which will help modernize digital operations in the areas of finance, human resources and payroll.

Workday will replace the current Banner ERP system. Background on the enterprise resource planning review process and related information may be found at ERP Review.

Workday will enable the organization to perform more effectively, and provide improved user experience and data analytics.

It will also address the following challenges with the current enterprise management system:

WHAT WILL CHANGE?

GVSU faculty and staff will be impacted in their use of financehuman resources and payroll information systems when Workday goes live in January 2024. The degree of change will vary by department and role. Workday change management efforts will include communications, training, and more to keep you informed and prepared.

Workday is expected to replace Banner Finance, PageUp, UltraTime, and other legacy systems and workflows identified throughout the project.

WHEN IS WORKDAY COMING?

GVSU will begin to use Workday for finance, human resources, and payroll beginning in January 2024.

The Change Management team will help the GVSU community become prepared and equipped to transition smoothly to the new system.

This GVSU Workday Transformation website will serve as the central portal for updates and resources for the project. The goal is to be transparent and communicative throughout the project.

WHAT ABOUT WORKDAY STUDENT?

GVSU will begin implementing Workday Student as our primary Student Information System beginning in 2024 with a 2027 go-live. Learn more about the connection between Workday Student and our current Workday Platform project.
