Shannon Richardson started her involvement with the Pre-Dental Club during her first year at Grand Valley, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She always wanted to be a dentist and hopes to open her own practice in the future. Through social media, Shannon reached out and found the perfect org for her interests.
Shannon started as the social media chair and became Vice President the next year. Being in a leadership position taught Shannon a lot about herself and her abilities. “I feel like I’ve grown as a person because I used to hate public speaking,” she shares.
One of the biggest things Shannon gained from her involvement is her preparation for grad school. The Pre-Dental Club focuses a lot on helping members build their applications for grad school, networking, and volunteering. Shannon discovered she’s very passionate about volunteering and helping others.
