Charlie Canning is a junior majoring in law and criminal justice. He is currently the president of GV's Comic Book Club, a student organization that welcomes anyone interested in comic books and related movies, TV shows, video games, and collectibles.
During his freshman year, Charlie attended a movie outing with the club and was instantly hooked. “The first meeting was incredible and I've been to almost every one since,” says Charlie of his initial involvement in the club.
He loves the inclusivity and non-judgemental nature of the club, which has been pivotal to its success. “Comic Book Club impacts the Laker community because it gives anyone a chance to be a ‘nerd’ without fear of being made fun of, as they are surrounded by others who share similar interests,” explains Charlie.
