GVSU Synchronized Skating Club Claims Victory

The Synchronized Skating Club finished a fantastic season that brought  them two gold medals and one silver medal, with club advisor Melissa Garland calling it the “most successful season in team history.” They won their gold medals at the Kalamazoo Kickoff in November 2019 and the Dr. Porter Synchronized Skating Competition that December.

The skaters took the ice in Wichita, Kansas this January at the US Figure Skating’s Midwestern Synchronized Skating Sectional. They earned a silver medal, making it the first time since the 2006-07 season that they’ve earned a medal at Sectionals.

The GVSU Synchronized Skating Club competes in tournaments across Michigan and the country in association with U.S. Figure Skating. For more information about the club, visit the Synchronized Skating Club’s webpage.
