Duties of Volunteer
Revenue Committee Member
Position Responsibilities Include:
§ Helping to develop/manage list(s) of companies to be solicited for participation in the Hometown Heroes Celebration
§ Following up with minimum of 5 assigned solicitations in a timely and appropriate manner
§ Encouraging individuals to attend the event through individual ticket purchase.
§ Fulfilling general committee responsibilities
§ Securing Live Auction Items from solicitation list.
§ Completing and returning corresponding paperwork for each secured Live Auction item
Communications Chair
Position Responsibilities Include:
§ Drafting a Communications Plan
§ Managing Communications Committee in implementation of Communications Plan
§ Managing committee members serving as Community Hero Liaisons to ensure all Community Heroes are adequately prepared with all necessary collateral and for any events related to the Hometown Heroes Encore.
§ Fulfilling general committee responsibilities
Communications Committee Member
Position Responsibilities Include:
§ Actively implementing the Communications Plan in coordination with other committee members
§ Working on Facebook posts, posters, and marketing materials needed for the event.

Position Responsibilities Include:
§ Drafting a Site Plan in coordination with Event Coordinator
§ Managing Site Committee in implementation of the Site Plan
§ Working with vendors to procure catering, linens, AV, & decorations
§ Coordinating VIP reception
§ Managing volunteers on day of event to ensure site is correctly set for the event
§ Ensuring tables are set properly for guests
§ Fulfilling general committee responsibilities
Site Committee Member
Position Responsibilities Include:
§ Actively implementing the Site Plan in coordination with other committee members
§ Coordinating event activities, layout, AV needs, catering, decorations, etc.
§ Coordinating talent for the VIP reception
§ Coordinating the VIP reception
§ Fulfilling general committee responsibilities
Registration Committee Member
Position Responsibilities Include:
§ Recruiting and managing volunteers for Check In & Check Out
§ Setting up Check In & Check Out areas for the event
§ Training Day-of Volunteers in areas of Check In, Check Out, & Greeters to ensure all volunteers are well prepared, professional, and friendly
§ Fulfilling general committee responsibilities
Volunteer Committee Chair
Position Responsibilities Include:
§ Recruiting and managing volunteers for day of event
§ Organizing a volunteer kick-off meeting
§ Training Day of Volunteers in areas of greeters, silent auction tables, Red Dot Draw, FTM Ambassadors, etc.
§ Fulfilling general committee responsibilities
Talent Chair
Position Responsibilities include:
" Coordinate with the band the day of the event to help them set-up
" Prepare dressing rooms for the band according to the hospitality rider
" Coordinate with venue to ensure all band needs are met (equipment, stage, lighting, etc.)
" Act as a liaison between the band and coordinator the day of the event
" Fulfilling general committee responsibilities

Description of event
The American Red Cross of West Michigan is proud to announce the 2018 Hometown Heroes Encore on April 10, 2018, at a new and exciting venue, 20 Monroe Live. Don't miss the most talked about event in Grand Rapids this year! Hometown Heroes Encore will mark the end of the heroes event format. Going forward in 2019 we will be hosting a totally different type of fundraiser. As we transition to this new event we want to do one last recognition of our heroes, an Encore of sorts, to honor our past heroes in one night. The event will highlight the collective community impact of all our past Hometown Heroes. In addition to dinner and a program, the evening will offer a live auction and a concert by local band, The Accidentals.
