"We’ve done all of the family runs since my daughter was a freshman (She’s now a junior).
My daughter Sydney and I completed the 5K this morning (her on the Allendale campus and me at the family farm in Eastern Colorado). Interesting tidbit: It was a bit more challenging this time around because of the altitude, the terrain, and the faint smell of smoke in the air from the fires north of Rocky Mountain National Park. (Air quality seems ok here and the fires are not near here, but weird how far the smoke travels). Phone service is spotty out here but we were able to run while on the phone. We were both able to describe the different scenes we saw from our different vantage points. (I saw some deer and some antelope in the fields while running along a dirt road).
