"I unplug to be in the now. At work, I spend the majority of my day staring at a screen and on/running social media pages. Therefore, when I’m not at work, it’s often that I just want to enjoy the present – the now and not connected to a screen or a device. The thought of my whole day connected to electronics makes me cringe – I want to be outside, spending time with those I love or just doing something for me without notifications or my phone distracting me.

Simple – turn my phone on airplane mode and set it aside. It’s better if I put it in a place where I don’t see it either as it makes it less tempting to try and check it. I’ll often do this after work for an hour or two. Lately, I’ve also been working out without my phone about once a week. This helps me concentrate so much better on my workout without checking notifications and spending more time resting than I should be because I’m on my phone. Trust me guys I’m not crazy, it gets easier once you keep at it!

Enjoying THIS moment and learning to enjoy other moments as you experience them."
