Adult Swim Program

Recreation & Wellness offers Adult Swim Lessons for anyone 17 years of age and older. Individual Lessons are great for working one-on-one with an instructor and Group Lessons (Learn to Swim and Swim Skills & Techniques) allow you learn basic skills or develop existing skills in small class sizes up to 6 participants. All abilities welcome in all lessons.

Individual Swim Lessons

Swim instructor

Individual lessons are open to participants 17 years old and older.Meet with a qualified student instructor 1 on 1 to work toward your personal swimming goals. Lessons are available during pool open hours. 

  • 1 Lesson: $25
  • 4 Lessons: $80

Learn to Swim

This class will develop fundamental skills, including: floating, water safety, breath control, beginner freestyle/beginner backstroke, and treading water.

Learn to Swim is available to any 17 years of age and older. Lessons occur once a semester and run for 6 weeks. Previous participants are welcome to register for lessons following semesters. All abilities are welcome. 

Great for individuals who:

  • Are new to swimming or have a fear of the water
  • Want to become confident in the water  
  • Want to learn fundamental swimming skills and beginning strokes
  • Want to be have the skill set to recreationally swim

Swim Skills & Techniques

This class will develop swim skills beyond the basics, including: learning new strokes, improving stroke technique and breathing, building endurance and efficiency, and intro to lap swim.

Swim Skills & Techniques is available to any 17 years of age and older. Lessons occur once a semester and run for 6 weeks. Previous participants are welcome to register for lessons following semesters. All abilities are welcome.

Swim Lessons

Great for individuals who:

  • Feel very comfortable in the water
  • Can swim across a 25 foot pool (with any type of stroke or kick)
  • Want to improve breathing skills, stroke efficiency, and breathing  
  • Want to be able to swim for fitness or swim for longer distances
