Description

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (OURS), a program within the Center for Undergraduate Scholar Engagement (CUSE), provides support for undergraduates to pursue research and creative practice in their discipline. Essentially, we support curious students, by connecting them with ways to discover, research, and explore. Students work with faculty on student-initiated, or faculty-initiated research and creative practice. OURS provides support for all students interested in research or scholar opportunities, from exploratory students to advanced student researchers/ scholars. Learn more about OURS.

This faculty-led session will introduce students to the ins and outs of undergraduate research. We will discuss what undergraduate research is (and isn’t), what you can expect from a variety of research experiences, and how to find a research program and a mentor. The session is open to all students interested in research and creative scholarship, and will include time for questions.

If you can't attend this Intro to Research workshop, there will be others this semester! These workshops are intended for first-year undergraduates and first-year transfer students who are new to research, but ALL GVSU undergraduates are welcome to attend - the event is free!
