Prospective Students
The Occupational Science and Therapy Department is part of the College of Health Professions offering entry-level and advanced practice degrees. GVSU offers the same graduate tuition rate for both in-state and out-of-state students.
For the student entering the field of occupational therapy (OT), a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) degree is offered. Students pursue a master's degree to gain entry-level knowledge, skills, and competency. To meet the needs of students, Grand Valley's MSOT program offers two delivery methods, traditional and hybrid. The traditional program is a two-year, full-time program with students meeting in-person for instruction. The hybrid program is a three-year, full-time program with students engaging in content online and meeting in-person once per month for extensive lab experiences. The hybrid program is often a choice for students needing to maintain employment or who have life demands that match well with the hybrid format. The traditional and hybrid programs meet the education accreditation standards, lead to an entry-level MSOT degree, and qualify the graduate for the field’s professional licensing examination, the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) and boasts a 99% pass rate on the NBCOT Board Exam over the past three years. OTs are highly employable with 100% of Grand Valley graduates of finding work as occupational therapists or in related fields.

The post-professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (DrOT) at Grand Valley is designed for working professionals seeking to advance their careers. Students can choose between full-time and part-time options, allowing them to maintain employment while pursuing their degree.

Scholarships, Admissions, and Financial Aid
