With the exception of Challenge Scholars, no, scholarships are automatically renewed so long as good academic standing and SAP (satisfactory academic progress) is maintained. Challenge Scholars is the only program that requires a signed contract every fall to renew the scholarship.
Students can be excused from scholarship luncheons so long as they communicate with their success coach beforehand.
Wade H. McCree does not cover summer classes. All other scholarship programs may cover summer semesters, but it is based on the individual’s financial aid package. Students would have to contact the Financial Aid & Scholarships office to confirm.
Absolutely! Your success coach is available to assist with any schedule changes you may need. We also recommend checking in with your program advisor to ensure you're on track to meet your graduation requirements.
If you do not meet the requirements of your scholarship program, your success coach will notify you. Each situation is reviewed individually and decisions are made collaboratively by your success coach and OSSB Leadership.

No, OSSB does not award scholarships. The scholarship programs in place are partnerships established with GVSU meant to solely provide guidance and academic support to scholarship students.
During success coach check-ins, grades will be discussed, as well as campus involvement, degree progress, academic standing, and students' over-all general well-being.
Yes, OSSB staff are always connecting students in our programs to different opportunities that come up throughout the year.
