Thinking about joining Greek Life at Grand Valley? Meet the Greeks is your chance to explore all that Fraternity & Sorority Life offers in one place! Join us on Wednesday, August 27 from 4–7 p.m. on the Kirkhof Lawn to meet members from our four governing councils, IFC, MGC, NPHC, and Panhellenic, and learn what makes each chapter unique. Whether you're ready to join or just curious to learn more, this is a fun, low-pressure way to make connections, ask questions, and find your fit in our vibrant community. We hope to see you there!


Labor Day Cookout

Staying on campus for Labor Day? Join Fraternity & Sorority Life and the Office of Multicultural Affairs for a classic cookout and a great time with new friends! We’re hosting a Labor Day Cookout for all students sticking around for the holiday, because everyone deserves good food and company on Labor Day. Stop by for free food, lawn games, music, and the chance to meet members of our Greek Life community. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Panhellenic Recruitment Orientation

Ready to begin your Panhellenic recruitment experience? Join us for Orientation, a fun and essential kickoff event where you'll meet fellow Potential New Members (PNMs), connect with recruitment counselors known as Rho Gammas, and get all the information you need before recruitment officially begins! Orientation is required for everyone participating in recruitment and is a great way to get excited for the weekend ahead. Haven't signed up yet? Make sure you register for recruitment before the deadline so you don't miss out on the fun and the opportunity to find your home in one of our incredible Panhellenic sororities!


IFC Recruitment Orientation

Thinking about joining an IFC fraternity? IFC PNM Orientation is your first step! This required event is designed for all Potential New Members (PNMs) planning to participate in IFC recruitment. You’ll get to meet members from each chapter, learn more about the recruitment process, and connect with other students exploring Greek Life. Whether you're confident about joining or just curious to learn more, this is the perfect way to start your journey and find the right chapter for you. Don’t forget — you must register for IFC recruitment to participate, so be sure to sign up before Bid Day!

Meet members, experience our community, and get a feel for what Greek Life is all about. Our Councils
Interfraternity Council (IFC): The IFC governs fraternities affiliated with the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) at GVSU, promoting scholarship, leadership, service, and brotherhood among its members. It supports its chapters through recruitment coordination, leadership development, and collaboration with university administration to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Multicultural Greek Council (MGC): The MGC serves as the governing body for culturally based fraternities and sororities at GVSU, including organizations affiliated with NALFO, NAPA, NMGC, and similar councils. It promotes leadership, community service, cultural awareness, and educational programming among its member organizations.
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC): The NPHC oversees the historically Black fraternities and sororities known as the "Divine Nine." At GVSU, it fosters collaboration among its chapters through educational programs, service projects, and social activities, supporting a sense of community and cultural heritage.
Panhellenic Association (Panhel): The Panhellenic Association governs the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities at GVSU, promoting cooperation, communication, and unity among its nine member chapters. It coordinates formal recruitment, enforces community standards, and provides educational and leadership opportunities for sorority members.
Fraternity & Sorority Life is a part of the Office of Student Life, which is a department of the Division of Student Affairs of Grand Valley State University.
