Career Opportunities for Medical Dosimetry, M.S.

Per the Houston Chronicle, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that demand for radiation therapists and dosimetrists will grow by 20 percent between 2010 and 2020, higher than the average for all occupations. This is due in part to the aging of the large cohort of baby boomers. Cancer in general becomes more common with age, so the demographic weight of the boomers is likely to create steady demand for every oncology-related health profession, including dosimetry. Given the diversity and ever changing technology of the job, lifelong career satisfaction is achievable. Medical Dosimetrists are employed in radiation oncology centers nationwide.
