Robert Kaminski

Mr. Kaminski is one of the founders of Mercantile Bank, which opened in 1997, and he has over 35 years of commercial banking experience. Mr. Kaminski was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercantile Bank Corporation on January 1, 2017 and continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, a position he has held since 2015. Mr. Kaminski has served various positions of increasing influence and responsibility within Mercantile and the Bank, previously appointed as Senior Vice President and Secretary from 1997 to 2003, Executive Vice President and Secretary from 2003 to June of 2007, Executive Vice President and Secretary from 2007 to 2015 and President and Chief Executive Officer from 2015 through 2016. In addition, he served as the Bank's Chief Operating Officer from 2000 to 2016.

Mr. Kaminski serves on the City of Wyoming Retirement Board and is also a member of the Finance Committee for The Right Place. He has previously served on the Boards of the Heart of West Michigan United Way, most recently as the immediate Past-Chairperson from 2021 to 2022 and Chairperson of the Board from 2019 to 2021, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth and A.C.T. – Artists Creating Together. Mr. Kaminski is a graduate of Aquinas College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and also completed the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin. He is a lifelong member of the West Michigan community, where he lives with his wife and raised three daughters, two of which, attended and graduated from GVSU (following in the footsteps of their Mom, also a GVSU graduate).
