Doyle A. Hayes '75

Doyle Hayes received his Bachelors of Economics and Operations Research from Grand Valley State University in 1975, and his Masters of Business Administration in management from Western Michigan University. He worked for General Motors for 20 years, then at Diesel Technology as vice president before leaving to start Pyper Products in 1994, a joint venture between Cascade Engineering and Systex Products (DENSO USA). He is the current President/CEO of dhayesGroup. Doyle received the Grand Valley Leadership Award and the Outstanding Alumni Award for the Seidman School of Business, both in 1995. He became part of the West Michigan Business Hall of Fame (Junior Achievement) in 2005. He also received the Achievement Award from the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Club, and the GM Chairman's Bronze Award for Community Service. Currently, Doyle is the corporate chair of the Metro Health Board and a member on the board of Mercantile Bank of Michigan, Davenport University, National Small Business Association, Grand Valley University Foundation, Center for Entrepreneurship, and Generation E of Southwest Michigan.
