The cast of "Wrens" opens the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance's season. The play, written by Ann V. McAvie, follows seven women serving in the Women’s Royal Naval Service as they face duty, secrets and shifting loyalties.

The play's characters might not like each other at first, but they still work together to help each other and end up forming a family bond, according to a student actor.

Madison Coykendall, who plays Doris, said, “They find joy in the time they spend sharing tea, stories and playing games.” She said the play highlights the characters' vulnerability, unity and hope.

Performances are intended for a high school-level audience and above. Tickets to  “Wrens” range from $8-$19. The production will take place at the Haas Center for Performing Arts, Linn Maxwell Keller Theatre, from October 3-12.

Tickets are available for purchase online.
