Do you know a GVSU alumni or faculty member whose work, leadership or impact deserves recognition? It’s time to celebrate Lakers who are making a difference in their professions, in their communities and in the lives of others.

The Alumni Relations office is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Alumni Awards, including:

  • Distinguished Alumni Award: Honors a GVSU graduate who has excelled in their chosen profession, and whose accomplishments positively impact society and reflect favorably upon themselves and Grand Valley.
  • Outstanding Educator Award: Recognizes a faculty member whose teaching, mentorship and influence has had a significant impact on the lives and careers of alumni.
  • Young Alumni Award: Celebrates a recent graduate who is making outstanding contributions to society, and whose accomplishments and career reflect favorably upon themselves, their community and Grand Valley.

Your nominations help shine a light on remarkable achievements across the GVSU community and inspire the next generation of Lakers. The deadline for nominations is February 28. Learn more details and find submission forms online.
