Welcome to the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships

The Office of Fellowships serves ALL students and alumni of GVSU, including all majors or areas of study. Many awards we support specifically target underrepresented students in higher education- so we highly encourage students of ALL backgrounds to explore opportunities with us! There are so many interesting opportunities! ‘Fellowships’ is shorthand for opportunities that include internships in DC and elsewhere, summer institutes in the United Kingdom, research experiences in Germany, as well as the ‘big’ fellowships that help to fund graduate study at Oxford, Cambridge, or other universities in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Scandinavia and more!

Our office is here to:

  • Work with qualified students to identify awards best suited to their goals
  • Help students develop a plan for long-term goals
  • Help students navigate the application process in order to produce the most competitive proposals possible
  • Provide advising and feedback on drafts of application essays
