The GVSU Office of Student Life empowers students to effectively engage with their communities through intentionally designed and inclusive programs, services and environments. Student Life fosters learning, development, wellness, and success for students at Grand Valley State University.

In this exciting program, new students will: (1) Build connections with other students (2) Learn strategies for wellness and personal success (3) Understand academic expectations (4) Become a Laker! All new students are expected to participate in Transitions. Each new student (commuter and residential) will be assigned to a small group of students, led by a Transitions Leader - an experienced Grand Valley State University student that will guide the group through various programs and activities. The Transitions schedule is designed to share valuable information with students as well as allow for free time to get settled and ready for classes to begin.
