The GVSU Mental Health Summit is an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to gain awareness about mental health and wellness, to hear from student panelists about their experiences and ideas on the topic, and to learn about the variety of resources available at GVSU to support the community. Activities during the Summit include:
- a trauma-sensitive mindfulness exercise with our Student Ombuds
- a facilitated student panel discussion focused on supportive classroom and campus practices for mental wellness at GVSU
- a presentation by the University Counseling Center on common concerns, recommended practices, addressing myths, and resources on campus
- a networking and information-sharing session with tables and posters
- opportunity for the community to meet with folks from the Counseling Center, CARE Team, Recreation and Wellness, Student Accessibility Resources, and social justice centers on campus
All GVSU community members are welcome at this event!
