The Literacy, Educational Foundations, and Technology Department provides courses and programs in three main areas:

• reading/language arts, including teaching English to speakers of other languages
• educational foundations
• and technology/information literacy.

Courses are woven into the undergraduate and graduate Education programs, and provide students with:

• fundamental knowledge to effectively utilize reading and technology skills in the classroom
• understanding of Education's social, historical, philosophical, cultural, economic, and political contexts.

At the graduate level, the fields of Literacy Studies and Learning, Design, and Technology provide online Master's programs. We also provide a graduate certificate program in Online/Blended Instruction.
