Literacy, Educational Foundations, and Technology Department

The Literacy, Educational Foundations, and Technology Department provides courses and programs in three main areas:

  • reading/language arts, including teaching English to speakers of other languages
  • educational foundations
  • and technology/information literacy.

Courses are woven into the undergraduate and graduate Education programs. This provides students with fundamental knowledge to effectively utilize reading and technology skills in the classroom, as well as understand the social, historical, philosophical, cultural, economic, and political contexts of education.

At the graduate level, Literacy and Technology provide multiple master's programs, which are offered in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. We also provide a graduate certificate program in Online/Blended Instruction.
