Dropbox hacked
September 08, 2016
Dropbox was hacked in 2012, and the company now says that 68 million passwords are at risk. If you signed up for Dropbox before mid-2012 and haven’t changed your password, it’s long past time to change it. But don’t stop there. Dropbox is advising:
- Update any other accounts that use the same credentials as
Dropbox. Or better yet, just stop doing that and create unique
passwords!
- Choose strong passwords. Here’s how.
- Turn on two-step verification (called multi-factor authentication). Here’s how.
- Sign in to Dropbox only from secure devices.
