Typically, the DeVos Medical Ethics Colloquy consists of two hosted conversations or presentations, with an event hosted in both the Fall and Spring Semesters. This event is not just for the GVSU community, but is open and free for the public to attend as well.

Grand Valley State University’s Kirkhof College of Nursing and Philosophy Department are excited to announce the line for the Fall 2025 DeVos Medical Ethics Colloquy.

Join us on Monday, October 13th from 6 – 8 pm ET to hear from Erika Blacksher, PhD, from HealthCommons, LLC and the University of Kansas Medical Center Affiliate, and from Matthew K. Wynia, MD, of the Center for Bioethics and Humanities Director at the University of Colorado for a presentation titled “Ethical Challenges in Public Health Today: Vaccines, Seeds of Distrust, & Declining Life Expectancy”. This timely and thought-providing conversation will be moderated by Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian, Chief Medical Executive with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and will focus on the evolving ethical landscape of public health. The presenters will be sharing their insights and engaging with the audience on how to navigate unique challenges in this time of rapid change and uncertainty.
