Career Opportunity: Medicine/Dentistry/Veterinary Medicine

Although most Bachelor's degree majors can be used as a preparation for medical or dental school-if the right courses are chosen-most pre-professional students opt for a degree in the biological or chemical sciences. Pursuing a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology will ensure that students take the right courses to prepare for the appropriate graduate admission test (MCAT, DCAT, etc.) and that all appropriate admission requirements are met.

All pre-professional students are encouraged to seek the advice of Grand Valley's CLAS Academic Advising Center at C-1-140 MAK.

Those who wish to become a practicing physician, dentist, or veterinarian will need to acquire a bachelor's degree, a four-year professional degree, and a residency specialization.
