Assessment of Student Outcomes

Outcome ADV-A Graduation Requirements

Students understand the graduation requirements for their individual academic program(s).
Objective 1 Students are able to appropriately register for and complete courses necessary to meet the general education requirements.

Measure 1

2018 Status
Not Yet Achieved
Fall and winter semesters of the 2017-2018 academic year exceeded the target goal of 10%. Fall 2017 overall deficiencies were at 8.03% and winter 2018 totaled 9.34%. Spring/summer 2018 did not meet the target, but stayed within the threshold totaling 13.97% deficiencies overall. General Education deficiencies occurred 6 times in fall 2017, 22 times in winter 2018, and 8 times in spring/summer 2018. Some students (29 in fall 2017, 74 in winter 2018, and 28 in spring/summer 2018) had multiple deficiencies, making the reported percentages unclear by type of requirement not met.

Objective 2 Students are able to appropriately register for and complete courses necessary to meet the university requirements.

Outcome ADV-B New Student Registration

New students accurately register for their first year of classes.
Objective 1 Each FTIAC (First Time In Any College) student has an appropriate schedule prior to the start of their first semester.

Measure 1

2018 Status
Achieved
99.5% of all incoming first-year students' schedules were checked in summer 2018. This is a major improvement over last year, and the 0.5% that were not checked were due to problems such as the student withdrawing prior to schedule check, or there was no checkout form on file to verify intent of coursework/plans, or changed to a major within another college so checked by someone else.

Measure 2

2018 Status
Not Yet Achieved
When 99.5% of schedules were checked in summer 2018, only 78.35% of FTIAC schedules were found to be error-free. This is below the anticipated threshold of 80%.

Outcome TUT-A Tutoring Experience

Students engaged in tutoring will better understand their tutored course(s) material.
Objective 1 Each student engaged in tutoring will say that they found the tutoring helpful to their understanding of the material.
