After the February 1st deadline, all applications will be reviewed by Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy.  Competitive applicants who demonstrate a good fit for Ferris’ College of Pharmacy will be endorsed and invited to advance to the interview round.

The Guaranteed Early Assurance Program provides an opportunity for Grand Valley State University prepharmacy students to apply to Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy before the 2025 PharmCAS application opens.  You will submit the 2024 application and if successful in the process, your admission will be deferred until fall 2025.

You should NOT submit your PharmCAS application until notified of your endorsement decision.  Only a copy of your unsubmitted PharmCAS application needs to be uploaded to the Phase II application. You can download and view your PharmCAS application in PDF format. From the application dashboard in PharmCAS:

  • Navigate to the Check Status tab and click the download button next to a program, OR
  • Navigate to the Submit Application tab and click the download button next to a program.

Once you download the application PDF, you can print it or save it on your computer.

  • Applicants should NOT pay the PharmCAS application fee until they are notified that they have been endorsed and are moving to the interview round.  Application fees are non-refundable.
  • Once you are notified of an approved endorsement status, you must submit your PharmCAS application to begin the verification process with PharmCAS.
  • Applicants must pay the $175 PharmCAS fee by March 15, 2024.

A limited number of PharmCAS application fee waivers are available to financially disadvantaged applicants on a first-come, first-serve basis. See website for more information.

CLAS Advising will provide unofficial GVSU transcripts to Ferris State University for the initial endorsement review.  However, due to AACP’s Cooperative Admissions Guidelines Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy cannot invite an individual for an interview without a verified PharmCAS application.  In order to verify your PharmCAS applications, official transcripts must be sent from all colleges/universities you have attended.

Refer to the PharmCAS Help Center’s information about verification

Transcripts can be sent in prior to your PharmCAS application being submitted.

Transcripts for each college/university you have attended must be submitted to PharmCAS prior to the February 1 deadline.  A copy of your Transcript Order Receipt is required for the GEAP application.  This will ensure there is enough time for the transcripts to arrive before your PharmCAS application is submitted and paid.

Official Academic Transcripts must be requested (by mail or electronically) to be sent to PharmCAS by the February 1 deadline. A transcript must be sent for each school you have attended. Information about how to request GVSU transcripts can be found on the Registrar's website. For more instructions about PharmCAS' transcript requirements, visit the PharmCAS website.

To apply, applicants need two professional letters of reference submitted by the deadline.

  1. Letter from a science faculty member
  2. Character letter from someone who knows you well, to whom you are not related (i.e. advisor, clinician, coach, volunteer/employment supervisor, mentor, religious leader)

These letters should address the evaluator’s individual views on your intellectual and academic abilities. The letters of reference should be on letterhead with signature.  Letters are requested and uploaded via your GEAP application.

  • No, in PharmCAS you should select the “I am Not Adding Any Evaluations” option.  Your letters of evaluation will be requested and uploaded directly through the GEAP application.
  • CLAS Advising will provide copies of your letters of recommendation to Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy for the endorsement review.

Interviews are included in the secondary application to Ferris State University through Kira Talent.  Once endorsed, applicants will be invited for an on-campus experience at Ferris State University (Big Rapids campus) in the spring 2024.

The Career Center also offers individual interview preparation and applicants are encouraged to utilize their interviewing resources.
