General Information
Study Abroad in Lisbon, Portugal with European Innovation Academy (EIA)!
GVSU students interested in entrepreneurship and innovation join other students from around the world to create a start-up venture in Lisbon for 3 weeks during the summer.
Program Dates:
July 19 - August 6, 2027 abroad| Lisbon, Portugal (EU)
- Students earn 3 credit hours, as transfer credit from the program: MGT 499 or ENT 350 for business students. Nonbusiness students can transfer into an independent course in their major
- The course also fulfills one Issues and Global Perspectives general education requirement.
- Business students may apply for a Seidman Study Abroad scholarship, on myScholarships
- Other scholarships and grants are available through the Padnos International Center.
- Take another 3 credit spring class, and qualify for financial aid! You need to be a full time student to receive aid, meaning you must be registered for a total of 6 credits.
- Designed for all students, ideal for those in business, engineering, and computing & information systems

Fun Fact: The first bookshop to exist is in Lisbon! Livraria Bertrand bookshop in Chiado first opened its doors in 1732.
Funding, Scholarships, and Fees

How do I pay to study abroad?
- Students can use financial aid, scholarships, grants, personal funds, and alternative loans to fund their study abroad.
- These scholarships can come through the Padnos International Center and the MyScholarships portal, or through CEI scholarship funding!
