EDS 422 - Introduction to Teaching Students with Specific Learning Disability

This course examines specific learning disability (SLD) and the associated conditions of dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. The impact of SLD on children, adolescents, adults, and families is studied. Policies and procedures for identifying individuals with SLD and evidence-based practices for supporting their transition to post-secondary education and employment are emphasized. Offered fall semester. Prerequisites: Declaration of special education major and B- or better in the following: EDS 205, EDS 305, EDS 306, and EDS 332.
