PLS 325 - Human Rights and Democracy in Russia and the Post-Communist World

A comparative analysis of the intersection of human rights and political regimes in Russia, the former Soviet Union, and post-communist Europe. Emphasis will be placed on the different levels of state repression and protections as well as civil, political, social and economic rights across the broader post-communist region. Course offered winter semester. Prerequisite: PLS 103 or junior standing.
